melissaannlegard The best Godzilla ever made!

Ok, first of all, the old Godzilla movies are horrible. I can see how a lot of people grew up watching them but I for one hate them. I grew up in the 90s so I grew up watching remakes of old movies which I find are a lot better than the old versions. I watched one old Godzilla movie and I thought it was so bad. I couldn't even watch a full hour of it. Anyway, the newer version of Godzilla starring Matthew Broderick was really, really, really awesome. I saw it in theatres when I was 9 years old and it took my breath away. The graphics are awesome. They really took the time to make Godzilla look real and he's huge. I actually cried at the end when Godzilla died. Ever since, it's been one of my fav movies and still is after 10 years. I have the DVD and I watch it every single time it's on TV. This movie stands on it's own and is nothing like the old versions. Matthew Broderick and Hank Azaria are really the ones who hold this movie together. I think they are great actors. I really don't see why people hate this movie so much. I think Godzilla has more of a younger fan base than the older people who grew up watching the originals because the technology today is enhanced and younger people are into the graphics and the quality of the movie. I really don't care who talk trashes this movie. I love it. It is in my top 10 fav movies of all time. At the end, the military blows up Madison Square Garden and kills all the babies then after that you see Godzilla come back and he is really mad and wants revenge so he trys to kill Nick, Philippe, Audrey and Victor. I thought that part was really the best part in the movie and it always leaves me at the edge of my seat. It's a scary scene watching Godzilla chase after them. It's amazing he didn't even catch them considering how fast he runs and how big he is. They honestly couldn't have done better with this movie. It was so well done.
Who are these people comparing this to the older Godzilla movies.. ? There is absolutely no comparison....this film stands on it's own and is a fast action paced, highly entertaining movie with special effects that were the best at the... Full review

The reference to a possible rebellion of nature is certainly right. The danger of a revenge of animals against man is around the corner! The nature against technology. This is one of the best movies about Godzilla! Good, really Good.... Full review

I have read the other comments about this film, and while I might agree with them from a critical point of view, the fact remains that this movie was NEVER meant to be a critic's favorite! We are not talking... Full review

As opposed to most people, I thought this movie was excellent. You can't watch the movie and expect Shakespeare...it's Godzilla. You have to appreciate the work that went into making this creature look so lifelike. This movie had spectacular special... Full review
