melissaannlegard The best King Kong!

I thought the old King Kong movies were horrible but Peter Jackson's version takes it to a whole new level. It has got to be one the best remakes I have ever seen. He has a way of making his movies that really catches the audiences attention. Lord of the Rings was really good but I don't consider it one of my favs. Jack Black is one of my fav actors but I don't really care for him in King Kong. I think he should stick to comedy. He wasn't too bad in King Kong but he could do better and I mean in different kind of movies. Adrien Brody is my fav character in the movie. I haven't even watched any of his movies before but he was really good in King Kong. King Kong is just about over 3 hours and for most people, they can't sit through movies that long. I think that's what makes a better movie when it is longer just like Titanic and Lord of the Rings. They give us more detail. The graphics in King Kong is way over the level of expectation. I never expected it to be this good. The best part was when King Kong was fighting the T-rexs. I saw it twice in theatres and I'm glad I did. It was hard sitting through 3 hours in the theatre but it was worth it. The Hobbit comes out 2012 which Peter Jackson is directing. I can't wait to see how that turns out.

The best I can give it is a half of a star, at most. Jack Black's worst movie- and I'm a fan of Jack Black! I couldn't wait for it to end- it went on and on and on until I got up and left the room. It took king kong to a whole new level of LAME. Do yourself a favor and don't waist your time.
Let me be the first to admit that there's nothing wrong with a long movie, nothing at all. "Titanic" was a long movie that was as exactly as long as it needed to be. "Gone with the Wind" was a... Full review

Where oh where did it all go wrong? You had a $200 million budget, special effects wizards up the wazoo and Peter "LOTR" Jackson directing a bona fide classic that could only benefit from a modern retelling. However, the end... Full review

This has to be one of the most over-hyped movies of all time, a veritable 'King Kong' of a movie deflated to Bubbles the chimp stature with its wooden acting, naff sequences, contrived plot and extreme length. As the saying... Full review

If it had been announced that a remake of the classic "King Kong" was being made without the name Peter Jackson attached to it, there is no doubt audiences would have been outraged. But after the enormous success of the... Full review

I agree with most of you that the effects were spectacular, but judging a film on this single criterion makes one a shallow viewer. You must judge the story on its completeness, the characters must be judged for their depth... Full review

With the technology available for special effects, this could have been a great movie. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Sadly, this movie just proves the point that good effects do not a good movie make. What happened here is that a film with... Full review

Let me just say that with all of the remakes that have been coming out, King Kong may have been the most deserving and the most in need of being remade. I could not think of a better director for... Full review
