What a horrible, horrible vision!! Spike Jonez and Dave Eggers blasphemously stripped the wild anarchic primal JOY of the book and replaced it instead with a movie awash in sad greys, dysfunction and overly "talky" neurotic "wild things".... it was like... Full review

The book "Where the Wild Things Are" was brilliant in it's simple truth: kids think they want to be the kings of their world, but really, to indulge in play, wild-ness, and anarchy all the time would be scary, empty and... Full review

I don't know what's all the raving about how great this movie is, but as soon as the movie trailer came out on TV I knew it'd be a piece of crap. Sure enough, I watched it tonight, and my opinion... Full review
I have no idea what movie all those other people watched - the ones who gave it 3 stars and above - but I can say with the strongest conviction that it wasn't the same movie I watched. OK, 1st thing... Full review

I was really hoping to enjoy this movie and for the first hour, I did. Unfortunately where the wild things are is where character development is not. The main character, Max, remains just as selfish and cruel at the beginning of... Full review

A beautiful, audacious, roughly-hewn motion picture (adjectives that are no doubt overused in describing the picture's modus operandi), Spike Jonze's adaptation Maurice Sendak's adored children's book "Where the Wild Things Are" taps into the innocent, volatile world of a 9 year... Full review
Billed as a romping-fun family movie, what I saw was a tedious, brooding, neurotic and thoroughly unwatchable film. One that I would never show to children. I loved the book as a child and was totally sold on seeing this movie... Full review
A superb movie marred by the Shaky Cam treatment

From the first trailer that I saw, I had a feeling that this would be a great movie. As each succeeding trailer upped the ante, I became more and more sure. When I walked into the theater and saw children and... Full review

When I first saw that Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers were adapting "Where the Wild Things Are" into a feature-length film, one question kept coming up: how do you turn a nine sentence children's book into a movie? Unfortunately, after seeing... Full review

I took my grandson age 7, it was certainly different. I kept waiting for it to start, it never did. I was disappointed.
